Yes, I started taking Adderall to compensate for my brain fog and confusion, though I was diagnosed ADHD long, long ago. The doses for ADHD and narcolepsy are different, but it's been a lifesaver.
I've withdrawn all chemicals for periods at a time (as you know) to see what's what. Can't have a ton of variables. Nothing works. The problem persists. I've also done the sleep study to check for apnea. No dice.
We'll see how these hormone panels come back at which point, I've ruled pretty much everything else out.

Those episodes you're thinking of only happen in some people with narcolepsy, where they fall asleep and muscles are impaired while standing. I rarely get this, thankfully, but I've dropped a few glasses and plates for no reason over the years since the flu.
I totally thought it was a genetic disease that just ran in families. Had no idea the influenza link.
