The Twisted Scheme to Suppress the Democratic Vote in Texas Explained

Just a few hours ago, on Halloween afternoon, State Republicans have asked a federal judge to oversee a case where, if they proved victorious, the state would be allowed to throw out 100,000 Texas ballots in Harris County, Texas — ballots that have already been cast.
For those unfamiliar, Harris County is a Democratic stronghold that’s undeniably blue in the otherwise red state of Texas.
Texas is now a close race and without Harris County and its strongly democratic votes, it’s safe to say the Republicans can rest a little easier at night in what will likely be another victory for Republicans in the state.
Harris County is the home to Houston, Texas, one of the more diverse cities in the state with a sizable proportion of non-white voters.
Now, after failing in state courts, the Republicans of Texas are ramping up their fight against the right to vote in what some are loudly calling voter suppression. Let’s start with what voter suppression actually is…
