Hey John, thanks for commenting and reading. I sincerely appreciate both.
Thing is, this is a small piece of many, many other criticisms of the idea I’ve laid out. Here’s a podcast episode where I discuss his opinions for an hour straight (fairly) and take it bit by bit, piece by piece, from his own mouth (that way, I can’t be accused of misrepresenting him). This is the problem with Peterson. He’s totally unclear and bumbles his way through things. He speaks to the intuition of people at the expense of facts.
Your experience (and mine) don’t get to represent the whole. We’re just two people. Which is why we have statistics. Pew Research is pretty vigorous with their research, and they’ve found these numbers repeatedly. I also checked the US Census data. The thing is, Peterson often lies to people. He speaks to intuitive grievances that are wrong.
People do this all the time in other forums. For the far Left, every single corporation is evil. For the far Right, every single politician is evil. They remove all gray areas and refuse to look at things with any delicacy.
Anyway, here’s the hour-long criticism. I took it bit by bit and, again, was quite fair to him, considering how nonsensical what he was saying actually is.
